The Festival of Lights, also known as Hanukkah, will take place this year from December 18th to the 26th. The Tampa Bay area celebrates with races, ice skating events and the lighting of giant menorahs. Below is a list of 16 events happening in our area.

Santa’s Holiday Revue: This fast-paced musical tours the world around the dances, songs and stories of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and more. Kids can sing and clap as they learn about the traditions and customs that make for the magic of the holidays. $7.50-$8.50. 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Chase the Dreidel 5K Run: Chase a life-size dreidel down 58th Street and the Pinellas Trail on a chip-timed, police-monitored course. Includes handmade ceramic medals, t-shirt, swag bag and potato latke dinner. $36 in advance, $50 day of. 16:00-19:00 Sunday. Menorahs and Martinis: Design your own custom granite menorah at this pre-Hanukkah ladies night with drinks, Hanukkah treats, and a discussion about the role of women in the Hanukkah story. Let’s Gelt Lit: The night for young Jews in their 20s and 30s features poker, latkes, themed drinks, competitive dreidel games and infused jelly doughnuts. Hanukkah in the city: This year’s theme is Fire and Ice with a giant ice menorah, liquid fireworks by Spheres, fire show, Klezmer band, Hanukkah gelt drop, latkes, donuts, raffles and select menorah lighting. Hanukkah on Main Street: Join Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch for a live Jewish soul concert by Tali Yessen graffiti menorah, gelt drop, falafel, kosher BBQ, street art, walkers, face painting, donut decorating, latkes, pet dreidel, latke with a bike, dreidel moon bounce and sweepstakes. for free 6:00 p.m. Dec. 19. Mega Hanukkah Celebration: The Beachwalk in front of the surf shop sets the stage for a huge Hanukkah party, with presentations from Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, a surprise themed menorah lighting, ThunderBug, latkes, donuts meet and greets, a gelt drop from the Clearwater Fire Department. , free gifts for each child and children’s entertainment. Hanukkah in Ellenton: Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch join forces for a menorah lighting at the Ellenton Outlets, with a magic show, music by the Freylach Band, latkes, donuts, dreidels, a kosher dinner and Hanukkah art.
