When you’re in the business of building vehicles for people to drive on public roads, eventually you have to test those vehicles on said public roads, caught by sharp-eyed onlookers with cameras not yet ready for your secret, primetime prototype car. Such is the case with these images of the next-generation Toyota Tacoma midsize pickup, which the photographers who captured may feature a hybrid powertrain.

How does the camera operator know that? They noticed that a rear window was down and visible through it was “a nest of orange wires glowing in the daylight.” As some of you may know, the color orange, when wiring or cabling, usually corresponds to high-voltage found in electric and hybrid vehicles.
