A Chicago anti-violence group is organizing a Christmas party for children affected by gun violence | Jobs Reply

A Chicago anti-violence organization is asking for help to care for children involved in the shooting.

The group, “I’m Telling, Don’t Shoot” will surprise 100 children whose parents were killed or permanently injured in a Christmas shopping shooting.

The group’s founder, Early Walker, calls gun violence “Chicago’s new epidemic.”

“So today I am calling on all big businesses, companies, small businesses, whatever you have, churches, and any organization for that matter, to support this effort. We want to send a message that we as a community come together behind these children and show these children that their lives matter,” Walker said.

Walker has organized the holiday toy drive for the past 10 years, but says the pandemic has hurt funding for the annual event.
