Christmas Shopping Treasures in Nodaway County: Blue Willow, White Elm offer Christmas cheer | Jobs Reply

Stephanie Campbell Yount had just moved to the city in 2016 and wanted to invest and become part of the community.

Yount realized that there weren’t many small shops in Maryville, so Blue Willow Boutique was born. Merged by White Elm Mercantile in 2020, the two stores now occupy 107 East Fourth Street on the north side of the town square.

Last minute Christmas gifts abound at Blue Willow specializing in clothing from size small to 3X in many styles and accessories. There is also a display of stocking stuffers for women, men, children and teenagers, with many items under $10 and all thoughtful and useful gifts.

White Elm has home decor and gifts for everyone on every Christmas shopping list. The store features delicious food, items for babies, children, pets, men, new mothers, gifts for teachers and new brides.

“You name it, we got it,” Yount said. “White Elm is a traditional healing place where you walk and see beautiful things. Even as an owner, I like to walk in the front door and look at the store as a customer.”

New items come in every week, so the stores are always changing and have new items to check out.

Gift cards of any denomination can be purchased for Blue Willow or White Elm. Individual store cards can be used at that store or online at shopbluewillow.com or whiteelmgift.com. Both stores can send gifts.

White Elm and Blue Willow will both be closed on Saturday, Christmas Eve, December 24 and Monday, December 26. The stores will reopen on Tuesday, December 27 for the half-yearly retail sale.

Shops are closed on New Year’s Day, Saturday, December 31, and Sunday, New Year’s Day, January 1, 2023.

Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday. For more information about Blue Willow Boutique and White Elm Mercantile, call 660.227.0335.
