Westford, USA, Dec. 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In the United States shopping bag market, approximately 100 billion plastic bags are used each year. -It takes about 12 million barrels of oil to make that many plastic bags. -It would take an average of nearly 50 million cars a year to offset the greenhouse gases from making all those plastic bags. -A majority of Americans (75 percent) say they are more likely to use reusable shopping bags if stores offer them a discount for doing so, and if the bags are ready to use. -Most people surveyed by SkyQuest (84 percent) said they reuse plastic shopping bags for other purposes, such as trash can liners or packaging materials. -Although paper shopping bags require more energy and water to produce than plastic bags, they produce less pollution.

Sales of single-use shopping bags have declined worldwide as consumers and governments become more aware of the environmental impacts of these products. However, the market for reusable shopping bags is growing, and SkyQuest believes there is a significant opportunity for companies to capture this market. Our analysis of the shopping bag market shows that the reusable bag market is currently undervalued and has great potential for growth. The reusable bag market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9% between 2022 and 2028, while sales of single-use bags are expected to decline at a CAGR of 5%. This presents a significant opportunity for companies that are able to capture market share in the reusable bag market.

They come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and can be used for a variety of purposes, including shopping for groceries, carrying books, or storing things.

In recent years, the shopping bag market has seen many trends that are likely to continue in the future.

  • One of the most notable trends is moving from plastic bags to more environmentally friendly options such as reusable cloth bags or paper bags. This is driven by both retailers and consumers being more aware of the environmental impact of plastic bags.
