Hatchback Corolla is sporty and fun for passengers – Boston Herald | Jobs Reply

Grasso’s Garage takes it to Florida!

Yes, that’s right, we’ll be in Florida to review Toyota’s Corolla Hatchback XSE. On the inaugural drive, it was a 240-mile trip from Tampa to Miami. The Corolla performed superbly on open roads, bridges and traffic. Our 6-speed manual transmission was flawless, smooth and quiet. We got an outrageous 41 miles per gallon on the highway in some places and did a combined mpg of 34 in our weeklong test. Our XSE model is beautifully showcased in a Blue Flame exterior with black accents.

With a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine, and riding on 18-inch wheels, the Corolla Hatchback XSE has a certain clientele. While it may be for college students and first-time drivers, it’s also great for commuters. Back to work already a drag, the Corolla hatchback offers comfort, a spacious interior, excellent fuel mileage and great technology.

The Corolla hatchback’s safety features are top of the line. While the official safety rating comes in at 5-stars across the board, we recognize Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, blind spot monitoring, smart key system, backup camera. LED headlights with upgraded adaptive headlights were a cool feature.

On the inside, it was all comfortable, although the rear seats were small, the hatchback really showed excellent storage space for luggage and groceries. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system was present which protruded from the center stack. It was easy to use and very crisp in appearance. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, in addition to power front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control.

For Grasso’s Garage, we prefer to test drive a vehicle in Florida.

We drove over 500 miles on the open road, back roads, highways and side streets of the city. The Corolla hatchback is aimed at and has an individual consumer who is looking for excellence in the automotive industry. Not only is the Corolla hatchback a great vehicle for many, the XSE model is a total win.
