the concerts

OXFORD — Free Christmas concert, ‘God With Us: A Christmas Song’ with conductor Ryan Slocum, Dec. 16, 6:30 p.m., at Oxford Seventh Day Church, 259 Fore Street.

Open day

PARIS – The annual Christmas open house will be held on December 17 and 18 from 12:00 to 16:00. We welcome visitors and donations to place animals on and under the donor tree. Donations are essential to support the shelter, to provide joy, comfort and much-needed specialized care to the more than 150 animals currently waiting for their forever home with us (twice as many as in previous years). The location of the shelter is 9 Swallow Road, off the High Street of Paris. The need is greater than ever this year because we have more animals, especially felines. Monetary donations, as well as canned goods and dry cat food, are definitely at the top of this year’s Christmas Wish List! For more information, call 743-8679.

LOVELL — On Sunday, Dec. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Lovell Historical Society will hold a Christmas Open House at the 1839 Kimball-Stanford House.

Inside the historic house there will be plenty of free refreshment tables, cakes for sale and various local businesses displaying their wares. A draw will be held. The museum will be decorated for the holidays with an exhibit featuring the Society’s permanent exhibit.
