Last minute Christmas shopping in Downtown Twin Falls | Jobs Reply

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) β€” Christmas shoppers, time is running out with four days left until Christmas.

KMVT’s Zach Bruhl takes us to Main Street in Twin Falls to see how local businesses are handling the chaos of holiday shopping.

Home time… Christmas is Sunday and shoppers are working to knock off the last few items on their lists.

“I’m pretty, I think everything is wrapped up with a few last minute things, that’s why we’re here,” said Ashlee Keller. Not everyone is as well prepared as Keller, some start shopping, a few days in advance.

“There are definitely a few people who say, ‘I haven’t started yet, so today is my day,’ and that’s exciting,” said Perrine Man Owner Cory Paulson.

With four days to go before Christmas, that last-minute shopping can be a frenzy for shoppers looking to finish the finer details of their Christmas list. But, for small business owners, like many here on Main Street in Twin Falls, that chaos can be a recipe for their success.

“Most people do about, I would say, 70-75% of their business in November and December,” says Kindsey Taylor, Owner of Copper Monkey.

On Main Street in Twin Falls, small businesses compete with big businesses, on the corner of Blue Lakes, but business owners say they have a loyal following of local residents.

“We live in such a great community and shopping locally is a big thing, so cool people work for us,” Paulson said.

Taking a break from online shopping and supporting businesses in your community during the holiday season can mean the difference between success and failure for your local storefront.

β€œIt’s like peaks and valleys, right? So, we are at the peak of this holiday and we are getting ready to dive into our village in January and February,” said Taylor.

So, if you’re looking to complete that Christmas list, shopping local can be one of the best gifts you can give.

“Like my sign says, skip the mall and shop a little,” Taylor added.
