Millbury Toy Drive: Delaney’s Coin Shop, inside Felter’s Mill at 22 West St., is having its annual toy drive. New children’s gifts can be left unwrapped in the store until December 16th.
Asa Waters Mansion Gift Shoppe Opening:
TheAsaWatersMansion, 123 Elm St., has a small gift shop run by volunteers who raise funds to restore and preserve the beautiful 1826 Historic Mansion. The store is open on a limited basis, and usually during Friends Fundraising events, but a special opening is planned for Friday, December 16, from 3pm to 5pm. New England-made ornaments, jewelry, USA-made puzzles and a variety of unique holiday gift items. Enjoy a special price on the Palace’s beautiful brass ornaments, made by the same Lincoln, Rhode Island company that creates the annual White House Christmas decoration. Egg will be served.
Enter Santa Claus
Millbury: The Millbury Fire Department will accompany Santa on his travels around town on Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18. The streets served by Headquarters will be visited on December 17 at 3:00 p.m., with Engine 3 starting at 4:30 p.m. on December 17 and Engine 2 on December 18. It will start at 16:00. Follow Santa through the Glympse app. The link will be posted on the Millbury Fire Department Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ MillburyFire) prior to the start of the Santa ride. Fuel costs have been covered by an anonymous donation.

Sutton Food Pantry:
19 Hough Road, next to the Senior Center. Open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For questions or food assistance, call the Senior Center at (508) 234-0703. All donated items must be within the use by date. Expired food cannot be served in the cafeteria. Current needs include: canned and instant potatoes, canned pineapple, canned beets, cans of raisins, tomato soup, vegetable soup, packages of rice and noodles, canned ham, chili, peanut butter and jelly, sugar in containers (not bags), milk and Jell-O mix, fruit pie filling, quick bread mixes, coffee, hot cocoa and bottled juice.
There are currently three locations in the city where bottles and cans can be returned: the Dudley Gendron American Legion parking lot; Fire Station #3 in Wilkinsonville; and Main Street, Manchaug, in front of Manchaug Mills. Proceeds will benefit veteran causes.
