Non-profit BR treats 10 families to a holiday shopping spree | Jobs Reply

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Ten families in the Capital City were given a special holiday gift on Wednesday, December 21.

The non-profit organization, Project 70805, along with Aetna and Williams Architecture hosted the “The Wish List” giveaway.

The families, who were nominated, submitted wish lists and then took a trip to Walmart to get groceries, toys, housewares and everything they needed for Christmas.

“Toys are something that lasts forever; here today, gone tomorrow kind of situation. But I think if we can put something in the house like groceries or household items like soap, you know the bath stuff and anything we can find that carries over to Christmas right? So in that way it makes a lot of sense to have an impact in that way,” said Jason Hughes, Founder of Project 70805.

Project 70805 hosts holiday donations every year.

They also work to provide scholarships to high school students.
