OKC Thunder Players Surprise Millwood Students With Shopping Spree | Jobs Reply

The Oklahoma City Thunder are always out and about, and Thursday was the surprise of a lifetime for some Millwood High School students.

Millwood students went to school on Thursday expecting to take a field trip to a community event.

“My mother was scared; he said: ‘don’t you know where you are going?’ And I was like ‘no’. Then you better make sure you get that,” said Millwood student Bronson Parks.

They finally found it and still don’t believe

“Whenever we’re around this thing with carts and stuff, I thought we were going to shop like run around and try to get more stuff or something like that,” said Millwood student Ameria.

“The kids get a $500 shopping spree and the most important thing is that they get to have, have these conversations with the players, meet them and get to know them as they walk around the store,” Erin Oldfield, director of public relations. it means thunder.

“We chose them based on their leadership potential, somewhat out of necessity, but also just kids who liked to help others and give back,” said Millwood Superintendent Cecilia Robinson-Woods.

Players like to take a minute away from basketball at events like this.

“This is a great event, man, this is what it’s all about, especially at this time,” OKC Thunder forward Kenrich Williams said.

After the $500 buyout claim, Thunder representatives hinted that there may be more to come for the kids.

“There may be a special surprise when the children leave. “They will get more money to come back and maybe buy more,” said Oldfield.

And Dr. Robinson-Woods believes these kids deserve it.

“The biggest thing about this is, I gave them a list of questions, and I asked the kids how do we make the world a better place? all the students answered, we can help others, we can help the homeless,” said Robinson-Woods.
