Some North Texas holiday events have been canceled or postponed due to an arctic blast affecting the state.


Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie will be closed Dec. 22 and Dec. 23 for the safety of event workers who must work outside, according to the event website.

Guests with pre-purchased general admission passes can use those passes on any night through December 31st.

Guests with Express Passes for Thursday and Friday nights should check their email for instructions on how to exchange for another evening.

Currently, event organizers want to open the park every Christmas and plan to go through New Year’s Eve as planned.


According to Enchant Dallas’ website, the event will be closed on Thursday, December 22 due to inclement weather.

Ticket holders will receive an email.


The Dallas Zoo, home to Dallas Zoo Lights presented by Reliant, will be closed Thursday night, December 22nd.

The Zoo will be closed for the day on Friday, December 23rd and the Dallas Zoo Lights will also be closed Friday night.

“As we are experiencing cold temperatures this week, we have made some changes to our operations over the next few days with the safety of our guests and staff in mind,” the zoo tweeted.

If you have tickets to Dallas Zoo Lights on Thursday or Friday night, or tickets to visit the zoo on Friday, you will receive an email with options to reschedule your visit.

According to the zoo, on Saturday, December 24, they will resume normal hours. The zoo will be open during the day and the Dallas Zoo Lights will be closed for that evening.

The Zoo and Dallas Zoo Lights will be closed on Christmas Day.


The Fort Worth Zoo will be closed on Friday, December 23rd.

Regular hours will resume on Saturday, December 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Christmas Day the zoo will be open with shorter opening hours from 12:00 to 16:00
