T-Mobile expands leading 5G network with additional coverage and capacity | Jobs Reply

BELLEVUE, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Consider the microphone dropped. T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) – America’s leading 5G provider – today announced that it has expanded 5G coverage and capacity, now reaching 323 million people with Extended Range 5G and 260 million people with Ultra Capacity 5G. With this achievement, T-Mobile achieves its mid-band 5G annual target weeks ahead of schedule and moves closer to its goal of reaching 300 million people with Ultra Capacity 5G by the end of 2023. The Un carrier is also adding massive boosts to its ultra-capacity 5G network with a new one nationwide 5G middle spectrum layer: 1900 MHz.

“We are rapidly executing on our vision to deliver the highest capacity network this country has ever seen,” said Neville Ray, President of Technology at T-Mobile. “We’ve been at the forefront of 5G coverage from the start and have deployed a massive 5G footprint that continues to grow. And with Ultra Capacity 5G, there is no denying that T-Mobile customers have access to the highest performing 5G network.”

With the expansion of coverage, T-Mobile is also bringing in additional capacity for even higher speeds. The Un carrier has now deployed 1900MHz spectrum nationwide – another layer of mid-band 5G (the fast stuff). Using a freeway analogy, the new layer of 5G spectrum adds lanes to the road to allow traffic to zoom. And for those who really want to go fast, the Un carrier has started to shine a light on three-carrier aggregation – the combination of three channels of 5G spectrum in the mid-band – which has been tested to achieve peak speeds of over 3 Gbps/ s generated on T-Mobile’s standalone 5G network. Customers with the Samsung Galaxy S22 are now using the function in parts of the network. The three-carrier aggregation will be rolled out nationwide and accessible to additional devices in the near future.

T-Mobile is a 5G leader with the nation’s largest, fastest, and most reliable 5G network. Customers on other networks who want a better experience can now try the country’s most awarded 5G network for free. With T-Mobile’s Network Pass, people with unlocked eSIM-compatible phones can experience T-Mobile for three months free with unlimited smartphone data, including 5G. And when they’re ready to switch to T-Mobile, Easy Switch lets them switch right from their phone in minutes.
