Texans’ Laremy Tunsil is throwing a shopping, surprise holiday party for single moms and their kids | Jobs Reply

HOUSTON – Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil hosted a $5,000 shopping spree and surprise holiday party for single moms and their kids Thursday night at WSS in Houston.

In partnership with Gracewood, a non-profit organization, AK Law Firm, Ashley Home Store and Vault Aviation, Tunsil helped the children choose gifts and, later, worked behind the cash register to check them out.

Tunsil was inspired by the example of his mother, a single mother who worked three jobs to support him and his brother, Alex Weber, who attended the event and Laolu Sanni, the NFL player’s business manager and friend of Divine Tree, his motto. “the gift that keeps on giving.”

“The holiday season can be a difficult time for single mothers trying to give their children memorable and loving gifts,” said Tunsil. “My mother worked hard to be able to provide for me throughout the year, but especially at Christmas time. I always admired her hard work and dedication as a single parent. For that reason, I really wanted to do something special for other single mothers to help them with their burdens the way I wanted to help my mother when I was younger.”

Ashley HomeStore community coordinator Brittany Graham added: “We understand that being a single mother is double the work, but it’s also double the love. We are in awe of the strength and power that a single mother has. We firmly believe that family begins and ends at home and we are on a mission to support and strengthen homes – no matter what they look like. We are so excited to partner with our friend Laremy to love these wonderful families this holiday season. “
