The Basement is gearing up for Third Thursday holiday-themed shopping | Jobs Reply

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Third Thursdays at The Basement offer a unique shopping experience for people to support local artists and businesses. The last Third Thursday of the year takes place on Thursday, December 15.

Jennifer Fasulo, owner of Shay Co Shop, stopped by Morning Break with Santa Claus to share all the fun that happens during the event. There will be live music by Greg Gilmore, food and drink specials, photos with Santa Claus, a real open one-horse sleigh, holiday shops, cookie decorating and a hot chocolate bar.

The third Thursday takes place from 3-7 pm Dec. 15. at the Basement (50 S. Virginia Street). The historic Post Office is on the first floor and the Basement is one floor below.

Photos with Santa in front of a single historic horse slide cost $20 for quick three photo sessions or $100 for longer sessions. Kids big and small can also write a letter to Santa and send it to the North Pole through a one-of-a-kind mailbox located inside the historic downtown Reno post office building.

You can also peruse all the local shops and thrift stores and an art exhibit by local artist Katherine Case will be on display.

This special Third Thursday event coincides with the launch of Let It Glow – a community event, which aims to take people to local businesses in Reno as they walk up and down the illuminated streets and enjoy all that the local community has to offer while voting for their favorite lights and shopping at their favorite local businesses.

The Basement is open from 8 am to 7 pm Tuesday through Friday and from 9 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday. Individual store hours vary.
