The Chicago Park District hosts “Winter Kickback” events across the city | Jobs Reply


CHICAGO (WLS) — The Chicago Park District and various community organizations are hosting several Winter Kickback events on Friday.

There will be 30 community events featuring winter activities, food, music, games and more.

The goal of the series is to provide safe spaces, programs and other opportunities for Chicago teenagers and their families in 15 communities on the South and West sides during winter break.

12-4pm Gage Park Fieldhouse (2411 W 55th St.)

The Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) is hosting a Christmas Jam on the Chicago Lawn on Friday. The event features free food, snacks, games, giveaways, family photos, greetings with Santa, music, barbering and family happiness. The target audience is the families of the community, regardless of their age.

1-6 pm Piotrowski Fieldhouse (4247 W 31st St.)

The Alliance 98 (TA98) is hosting a Holiday Night of Winter Lights at Little Village. The event will include raffles, art. and crafts, entertainment, dancing, youth support resources and free food. S3 will also organize basketball clinics and sports training for high school girls. Piotrowski Park is a warming area in very cold temperatures.

2-5 pm Foster Park Fieldhouse (1440 W 84th St. in Chicago)

Chi-Rise is hosting a Winter Wonderland holiday party featuring activities, giveaways, games and fun. Food, drinks and snacks will be free. The Chi-Rise Auburn Gresham Winter Wonderland Holiday Party will feature a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, arts and crafts, face painting, line dancing, game stations, free gift certificates, live entertainment and more.

5-9 pm Lawrence Hall (1818 E. 71st St.)

Lost Boyz Inc. a group of successful youth leaders will host a South Shore Christmas Bazaar.
