Monarch Hospice looking for volunteers

Monarch Hospice, Lower Burrell, is looking for volunteers to help with personal companionship, emotional support, pet therapy, sewing and knitting and as an administrative assistant.

December 31: Tickets are on sale for the New Year’s Eve Bingo set for 8:00 PM at Apollo Hose Company No. 2, 325 N. Fourth St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $25 before Dec. 22; $30 at the door, includes hot dog and sauerkraut. A full kitchen will be available. Brackenridge

Saturday: Trinity United Methodist Church, 857 10th Ave., will have Christmas Eve services at 2, 7 and 11 pm at the church. The service at 19:00 will be family friendly with songs that children like to sing. At 10:00 p.m. the concert with cello, flute and piano will begin and at 11:00 p.m. there will be a candlelight service.

Leechburg

Bottom Burrell

Saturday/Sunday: Grace Community Presbyterian Church, 2751 Grant St., will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at the church at 7:30 p.m. The Christmas Day service will be at 10 am on Sunday. Details: 724-339-9661.

From Monday to Thursday: Lower Burrell Police K-9 shirts are available at the police department from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: $25, cash only. Proceeds benefit the K-9 team.

New Kensington

Today until January 2: Knead Community Café will be closed on public holidays. The lunch service will start on January 3rd.

Until January 3: The Community Clothes Closet will be closed for the holidays and will reopen on January 3rd.

Tarentum

Upper Burrell

Saturday: The Upper Burrell Volunteer Fire Department and the Vigilant Hose Company of Portvue are selling tickets for a $15,000 Christmas gift. Cost: $20 per entry, including eight numbers. Washington Township

Today: Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company will have bingo at 7pm at the firehouse, 4078 Route 66. Doors open at 5:30pm and sales begin at 6pm Free coffee. The kitchen will be open. Players must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.

January 22: There will be a super bingo at 2:00 pm at Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 4078 Route 66. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $35, in advance; $40 at the door if available; Includes a ticket to cover 12 $100 regular games, six $200 games, four $400 games and two $1,000 jackpots. There will be food, drinks, instant tickets and a 50/50. Reserved seating is available for groups of six or more. Players must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.
