– Second prologue concept idea after Ayago
We first saw the C-HR Concept back in 2014. Its production-ready version was released in 2016. Now, Toyota wants to improve on what it started with the second-generation C-HR, now previewed with the 2022 C-HR Prologue Concept.
Designed at ED² – Toyota’s European design development headquarters in the south of France – like the first, the C-HR Prologue, like its predecessor, introduces a bold design, unlike the family statement followed by other models. Based on the Prologue concept, the second-gen C-HR will still be as outrageous in design as the original, but will improve on design language, styling and fun factor, Toyota says.
Along with a new ‘hammerhead’ face seen on the new-generation Prius, the Prologue Concept features interlocking shapes, LED lighting and a unique grille-headlamp setting, integrated into a modern-looking fascia. A similar interlocking style is seen throughout the rest of the body, with diamond-cut finishes and a tri-color paint theme. Many styling elements seen here are a departure from the Aygo Prologue concept seen last year.
The next generation C-HR will mainly be a plug-in hybrid. Expect the production-ready model to arrive within the next few years.
